Barbitok Surpasses 6 Billion KRW in Q1 Sales... 38% Increase Compared to Same Period Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] Beauty medical information application (app) Babitok announced on the 7th that it recorded sales of 6.19 billion KRW in the first quarter of this year, showing a 38% growth compared to the same period last year. Operating profit for the same period was 1.07 billion KRW.
The company explained that the 'Babitokhada' campaign launched earlier this year was successfully operated, positively impacting sales and key activation metrics. It is also analyzed that the restructuring of the platform advertising business model at the end of last year, which strengthened product competitiveness, led to increased sales.
Over the past three months, Babitok's average monthly downloads reached 140,000, an increase of more than 14% compared to the previous year, and cumulative downloads surpassed 5 million. Monthly active users (MAU) exceeded 500,000 according to Adjust.
Since appointing a CPO and CMO last year, Babitok has expanded its scope from primarily plastic surgery services to include procedures and management, while strengthening content and brand assets. The 'Prepayment Service' launched in April is planned to rapidly expand based on users' residences and main visit locations in areas such as Gangnam, Seoul.
