Ahead of the Summer Peak Season, Carbonated Drinks Like Fanta and Sprite See Consecutive Price Increases
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] Ahead of the summer peak season, the prices of carbonated beverages have risen one after another.
According to the distribution industry on the 4th, Coca-Cola Beverage raised the prices of major carbonated drinks such as Fanta, Sprite, and Dr Pepper by about 5% at convenience stores starting from the 1st. This is the first price increase for Fanta since last October, only eight months ago.
Accordingly, based on convenience store selling prices, Fanta Orange and Pineapple (600ml) increased from 2,000 won to 2,100 won, Sprite (500ml) from 1,900 won to 2,000 won, and Dr Pepper (500ml) from 2,000 won to 2,100 won, each rising by 5%.
Sports drink Powerade (600ml) rose by 4.7% from 2,100 won to 2,200 won, ion replenishment drink Toreta (500ml) increased by 5% from 1,900 won to 2,000 won, and carbonated water Seagram (350ml) went up by 7% from 1,400 won to 1,500 won.

The industry states that this price increase is due to the sharp rise in international raw material prices such as aluminum and PET caused by the Ukraine crisis and ongoing supply chain instability. A Coca-Cola Beverage official said, “We will strive to reduce costs to minimize the impact of rising raw material prices.”
