According to the report, the New Orleans Police Department stated that a shooting took place after the graduation ceremony of Morris Jeff Community School high school, held on the campus of Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans the previous day.
At around 11:45 a.m. that day, police officers who responded to a shooting report at a parking lot on the university campus found three people shot: two men and an elderly woman. They were taken to the hospital, but the woman eventually died.
The police are investigating the suspect and the motive behind the crime.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, who left the scene before the shooting after attending the graduation ceremony, said in a statement, "Gun violence continues to plague our city," adding, "As seen across the country, gun violence is a disease, and its cure requires a collective approach, including each of us coming together to make our streets safer."
