Seoul City to Recruit 279 University Student Part-Time Workers for Summer Vacation... Applications Accepted from 7th to 10th
July 11 - August 19, 6 weeks, 5 hours per day... 50,800 KRW paid daily
30% of total recruits specially selected from socially vulnerable groups such as lower-income families
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 2nd that it will recruit 279 university student part-time workers who can experience Seoul city administration and earn tuition money during the summer vacation. University students who wish to work can apply through the ‘Seoul Special City’ app and website from the 7th to the 10th.
The eligibility criteria vary depending on the selection type. Among the total 279 recruits, 195 general selection positions (70%) are for university students (enrolled or on leave) registered as residents in Seoul as of the announcement date, or enrolled or on leave students (excluding graduate students) at universities located in Seoul. The special selection (30%) of 84 positions targets university students (excluding graduate students) registered as residents in Seoul as of the announcement date who are recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, low-income class, registered disabled persons themselves, families with three or more children, contributors to Seoul city administration (such as outstanding volunteers), North Korean defectors, multicultural families, and national veterans under relevant laws.
The first round of selection for eligible candidates will be conducted by computerized lottery by job type and region. The first selected candidates will be announced on the 17th, and the period for submitting supporting documents is six days from the 17th. Specialized jobs are selected by job type, and general jobs are selected by region.
After reviewing the supporting documents, the final selected workers will be individually notified on the 29th. They will be assigned to each department comprehensively considering the department’s requests, applicants’ specialties and majors, and distance from their residence. Meanwhile, autonomous districts recruit separately with different recruitment and working periods, and inquiries related to university student part-time jobs in each district office can be made to the respective district office of residence.
