[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] A police officer accused of taking a woman he met for the first time to his home and sexually assaulting her has been detained.
According to the legal community on the 1st, Park Won-gyu, chief judge of the Seoul Western District Court, issued an arrest warrant on the 30th of last month for Officer A, a current police officer facing rape charges.
Judge Park reportedly issued the arrest warrant citing "concerns over evidence tampering."
Officer A, affiliated with a police station in Seoul, is accused of taking a woman he met at a pub in Seodaemun-gu last April to his home and sexually assaulting her.
