Kia Launches Exclusive Membership for Electric Taxi Customers
The Nation's First EV Personal Taxi Customized Membership 'Kia EV Members Taxi'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Kia announced on the 1st that it has launched a customized membership program for electric vehicle (EV) personal taxi customers called ‘Kia EV Members Taxi.’
‘Kia EV Members Taxi’ is the first-ever membership program exclusively for personal taxi customers in Korea. It offers differentiated benefits and a convenient taxi lifestyle to business operators running personal taxis among Kia EV buyers.
Building on the charging roaming, car care, life care, and vehicle maintenance services of ‘Kia EV Members,’ which was launched in August last year, the program has enhanced tailored benefits for EV personal taxi customers, including KakaoT Blue vouchers, Korea’s first driver’s restaurant coupons, and personal taxi goods.
Membership customers can apply for and pay for the services provided by ‘Kia EV Members Taxi’ according to their needs and preferences. Kia Members points can be freely used at the time of payment.
Kia provides members who join ‘Kia EV Members Taxi’ with a charging roaming service that allows integrated use of domestic charging stations without separate membership registration for each charging operator through the integrated mobile customer app ‘MyKia.’
When paying for charging, Kia Members points can be used 100% at all affiliated charging stations. Points can also be used for payment when using Kia’s charging proxy service ‘On-Demand Pickup Charging Service’ and Hyundai Motor Group’s ultra-fast EV charging stations ‘E-pit.’
Additionally, when subscribing to a monthly membership, customers can pay for the subscription-type charging plan ‘Kia Green Pass,’ which allows charging up to 1400 kWh per month at discounted rates, using credit cards and Kia Members points. ‘Kia Green Pass’ is a subscription-type charging plan to be launched through a business partnership with ‘ESTraffic,’ the operator of the SS Charger charging platform, and can be applied for when using the charging roaming service via the MyKia app.
Customers using the Green Plus plan can receive up to approximately 43% discount compared to the general SS Charger membership fees, including the subscription fee, reducing the burden of charging costs.
‘Kia EV Members Taxi’ also offers customized benefits specialized for personal taxi operators that cannot be found in other existing memberships. First, it supports essential equipment costs required for Kakao T Blue subscription through vouchers worth 100,000 KRW.
Kakao T Blue is a premium brand taxi service that provides a differentiated riding experience with no ride refusals, quick dispatch, and friendly service. ‘Kia EV Members Taxi’ also offers, for the first time in Korea, a choice between a meal coupon worth 40,000 KRW usable freely at driver’s restaurants through partnerships or a neck and lumbar cushion set to help comfortable taxi driving, according to customer preference. The meal coupons can currently be used at 30 driver’s restaurants in Seoul and the metropolitan area, with plans to continuously expand partnerships nationwide.
‘Kia EV Members Taxi’ provides 100,000 points upon purchasing a new Kia EV and additionally grants repurchase points differentially based on the number of past Kia purchases. Moreover, through ‘EVerything Care,’ a comprehensive maintenance service for Kia EV buyers, it helps personal taxi operators maintain optimal vehicle condition while operating their taxis. Even after the free warranty repair period expires, the warranty repair period can be extended by using Kia Members points to pay additional amounts.
‘Kia EV Members Taxi’ offers a dedicated site for personal taxi members to easily and conveniently use taxi member-exclusive products and vehicle care services all at once. By accessing the Car & Life Mall on the Kia Members website and selecting the ‘Kia EV Members Taxi’ exclusive category, members can freely purchase personal taxi-exclusive vehicle supplies and use vehicle care service products. Additionally, ‘Kia EV Members Taxi’ supports life care services that help personal taxi members manage their health.
Kia, in collaboration with Hyundai Card, prepared various benefits for customers purchasing EV vehicles using the ‘Kia Members EV Credit Card’ to commemorate the launch of ‘Kia EV Members Taxi.’ The ‘Kia Members EV Credit Card’ integrates Hyundai Card M point benefits and ‘Kia EV Members Taxi’ benefits, proposing a smooth EV lifestyle from new car purchase to operational cost reduction. Customers who pay over 10 million KRW for vehicle purchase with the ‘Kia Members EV Credit Card’ and use the Save Auto program will receive 100,000 Kia Members points.
