On the 26th, at the Optical Core Experience Center, one of the quality and safety comprehensive training facilities within LG Uplus's Daejeon R&D Center, about ten trainees were diligently practicing optical core restoration. The 288 core cable means it contains 288 cores, as the name suggests. When optical cables are damaged due to construction or fire, workers must manually connect each core after stripping the insulation.
LG Uplus's quality and safety comprehensive training center opened in 2020 but was closed for two years due to COVID-19 and recently reopened. This year, about 2,000 employees from the subsidiary U+ Home Service are scheduled to complete training by December, with plans to expand access to partner companies and other local firms in the future. In addition to the Optical Core Experience Center, there are a total of four training facilities: △ Network Safety Experience Center △ Wireless·HFC Practice Center △ IP·SOHO Practice Center, conducting training over one or two days.

There has been internal and external demand to absorb outsourced maintenance personnel as direct hires and improve their capabilities. Yang Mu-yeol, head of Network Personnel Support, hinted, "Before the Network School, there were more than double-digit violations reported monthly regarding compliance with safety standards, but now it has greatly improved to about 1-2 cases per month."
With the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, telecommunications companies are strengthening internal safety accident measures. The Serious Accidents Punishment Act is legislation that strengthens criminal penalties against business owners when fatal accidents or other casualties occur in companies. The telecommunications industry also frequently experiences accidents at various construction sites such as network building and equipment installation.
