[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Hanwha Solutions Q CELLS Division announced on the 30th that it will sponsor the '4th Korea Solar League.'
The Solar League is a 'solar power generation competition league' where local governments and private organizations in Korea compete in the dissemination of solar energy and greenhouse gas reduction achievements. It started in 2019 and is a Korean version of Germany's 'Solar Bundesliga.' Hanwha Q CELLS has been sponsoring the Solar League since 2020.
This league is hosted by the Climate Crisis Response and Energy Transition Local Governments Council, the Korea Association of Mayors, Governors and District Heads, the National Council for Sustainable Development, and the Korea Energy Agency, and organized by the National Federation of Citizen Power Cooperatives and the National Network for Regional Energy Transition.
Metropolitan and basic local governments, as well as private organizations, companies, and individuals, can apply. Five local governments, seven private organizations, two individuals, and one public institution that have led the dissemination of solar energy will be selected and awarded. Applications will be accepted until the 30th of next month, and the awards ceremony will be held in October.
