Ukraine: "Russian Forces' Death Toll Exceeds 30,000"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced that "the number of Russian military casualties has exceeded 30,000.
On the 28th (local time), the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense issued a statement reporting that since Russia's invasion on February 24, the number of Russian military casualties has surpassed 30,000. However, Russia has not disclosed the number of its military casualties.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense explained that since the outbreak of the war, Russian forces have lost 1,330 tanks, 203 multiple rocket launcher systems, and 93 surface-to-air missile launchers. They also claimed to have destroyed 207 military aircraft, 174 helicopters, 503 drones, as well as 13 warships and 116 cruise missiles.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on the same day that it has fully secured Lyman, a key transportation hub in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated, "Through a joint operation by the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) militia and Russian forces, Lyman has been completely liberated from Ukrainian nationalists." This is the Russian Ministry of Defense's official acknowledgment of the DPR's claim the previous day that they had fully occupied Lyman.
