View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] On the second day of early voting for the 8th nationwide local elections, the turnout rate was recorded at 18.39% as of 4 PM on the 28th.
The National Election Commission announced that as of 4 PM, out of a total of 44,303,449 eligible voters, 8,147,201 had cast their votes. Voting began simultaneously at polling stations nationwide at 6 AM that day.

The region with the highest turnout so far is Jeonnam (28.47%). This was followed by Gangwon (22.88%), Jeonbuk (22.22%), Gyeongbuk (21.13%), and Sejong (19.46%). The lowest turnout was recorded in Daegu at 13.12%. Next were Gwangju (15.36%), Busan (16.68%), Gyeonggi (16.86%), and Ulsan (17.37%).
