At a policy meeting on the development of the Minrak 2 District commercial area held the previous day (25th) with members of the Minrak 2 District Commercial Association, Candidate Kim pointed out, "Due to the lack of public transportation connections, the number of customers coming from outside is low, and because of the absence of public institutions, the Minrak 2 District commercial area has become a structure that can only serve local residents."
He continued, "I will do my best to increase overall demand through establishing a 500-seat performance hall in the Songsan area, attracting semiconductor major companies to Camp Stanley, and relocating middle and high schools to the Songsan area."
In particular, as a measure to revitalize the Minrak 2 District commercial area, he stated, "We will greatly improve accessibility to the Minrak commercial area by establishing Minrak Station on Line 7, extending Line 8, and constructing new parking lots."
He added, "I will grow the Minrak Festival into the representative festival of the Songsan area to enhance the brand value of the Minrak commercial area in the long term, and just like how the number of visitors greatly increased after Sinchon Yonsei-ro was developed into a festival street, I will definitely revive the Minrak commercial area."
