According to LS Group on the 26th, Chairman Koo and CEO Myung Noh-hyun of LS will actively conduct on-site management by visiting 14 subsidiaries and sub-subsidiaries nationwide by July.
Earlier, in April and May, Chairman Koo personally oversaw the future growth engines of the group by attending the commissioning ceremony of ‘GL2030,’ a dedicated submarine power cable laying vessel of GL Marine, a subsidiary of LS Cable & System, and the completion ceremony of the LS EV Korea factory, an electric vehicle parts factory established in Gunpo City.
The company explained that by directly inspecting the group’s future growth engines and core business sites, receiving reports on current issues, and encouraging employees, they aim to enhance the group’s future competitiveness and seek solutions for sustainable growth.
Starting with Toricom, a subsidiary of LS Nikko Copper located in Asan, Chungnam, on the 25th, Chairman Koo and CEO Myung visited business sites in the Chungcheong region including LS Electric’s Cheonan and Cheongju plants, G&P Wood, a subsidiary of LS Cable & System, and Sejong Cable.
Toricom is the leading company in the domestic precious metal recycling sector. After receiving a business status report and touring the precious metal extraction production line, Chairman Koo and CEO Myung urged, “Please strive to increase the proportion of high value-added semiconductor materials and electrical and electronic materials so that LS Nikko Copper and Toricom can develop into comprehensive material companies in advanced industrial fields.”
At LS Electric’s Cheonan plant, they encouraged employees by saying, “The Cheonan plant is a key hub providing smart factory-related hardware and solutions to Korean companies. We hope it will become a global leader in automation by integrating robot businesses in the future.” At the Cheongju plant, they requested, “With pride as the second ‘World Lighthouse Factory’ recognized by the DAFOS Forum, please serve as a landmark of advanced manufacturing processes in Korea.”
The chairman’s on-site management tradition has continued since the founding of LS Group to further strengthen core and new businesses and promote innovation in industrial sites. Compared to previous chairmen, Chairman Koo has expanded the frequency and duration of site visits, demonstrating a strong will for maximizing business value through ambidextrous management and leading the group’s second leap forward.
In his inauguration speech last January, Chairman Koo emphasized, “We will become a company that balances advanced technologies such as electricity, power, and materials in one hand, and future leading technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) in the other, providing customer-centric value solutions.”
