Kakao Pay "Membership Service Managing Various Points Surpasses 10 Million Subscribers"
Points Can Be Earned and Used with Barcode Recognition Alone
Cumulative Barcode Scans Surpass 100 Million
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] KakaoPay's service subscribers, who can easily manage points from multiple partner companies, have surpassed 10 million.
KakaoPay announced on the 26th that the number of subscribers to its 'Membership' service has exceeded 10 million.
'Membership' is a service that allows users to easily accumulate and use points from various partner companies using a barcode issued by KakaoPay. When using offline stores, there is no need to select each partner company individually; points can be accumulated or used with just one barcode. By setting the barcode widget on the smartphone's main screen, users can use it without launching the KakaoTalk or KakaoPay applications. The cumulative number of barcode scans has exceeded 100 million.
As the number of subscribers increases, the number of partner companies for the membership service is also growing. Currently, it is partnered with Shinsegae Point, L Point, H Point, Happy Point, CJ One, and more, allowing use at over 150 brands including convenience stores, marts, cafes, airlines, gas stations, bookstores, and movie theaters.
