Acting Director Jo Cheong-sik's 'Suwon Waterworks Office Major Accident Safety Management Special Inspection'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Acting Mayor Cho Cheong-sik of Suwon visited the 'Suwon Waterworks Office' for an on-site inspection.
On the 25th, Acting Mayor Cho, along with senior officials from Suwon City Hall, visited the Suwon Waterworks Office, which was designated as a 'Safety and Health Management Priority Institution' last February, to conduct a special inspection of safety management implementation measures for the prevention and response to major accidents.
The Waterworks Office is a facility with many hazardous and dangerous factors, handling about 340 tons of chemical substances monthly.
During the on-site inspection, Acting Mayor Cho focused on ▲ risks of slips and falls at sedimentation tanks, ▲ risks of chemical contact and leakage accidents, ▲ risks such as soil collapse and burial accidents during emergency (nighttime) leakage and repair works, and ▲ support for rescue operations in case of falls at Gwanggyo Reservoir.
