In the legislative phase of 'Geomsu Wanbak' (complete removal of prosecutorial investigation rights), Park Seong-jin, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, who has been leading the prosecution organization on behalf of the Prosecutor General, is expressing his retirement thoughts at a farewell ceremony held at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 20th.

[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Kyung-jun] Park Seong-jin, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office (Judicial Training Institute Class 24), who led the prosecution organization in place of former Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo, who resigned during the legislative phase of 'Geomsu Wanbak' (complete removal of prosecutorial investigative authority), retired on the 20th.
At the farewell ceremony held at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office building in Seocho-gu, Seoul, Park said, "I, who was insignificant, have come this far. I think it was possible because of the help of all the prosecution family and our family," adding, "Now, I want to conclude my long journey as a prosecutor."
He said, "Looking back on my more than 27 years as a prosecutor, many things happened, but the recent legislative process of Geomsu Wanbak is unforgettable," emphasizing, "Politics must never again damage or distort the rule of law."
He continued, "Through the difficult and challenging process, seeing our prosecution united, I was able to see hope," adding, "I sincerely hope and support that our prosecution will not be divided but harmonized and integrated, and be loved by the people even more in the future."

Park began his career as a prosecutor in 1995 at the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office and is an expert in drug investigations, having served as head of the Drug and Organized Crime Investigation Division at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, head of the Drug Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, head of the Organized Crime Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, and head of the Violent Crime Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. He served as Chief Prosecutor of the Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office and Chief Prosecutor of the Gwangju and Busan High Prosecutors' Offices before being appointed Deputy Prosecutor General last year.
