Market Kurly Sees 2.8x Annual Growth in Customers Spending Over 150,000 KRW Monthly
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Market Kurly announced on the 19th that the number of ‘Kurly Lovers’ customers who purchase more than 150,000 KRW per month has increased 2.8 times every year since 2016, and the repurchase rate of new customers reached 77% as of last month.
Market Kurly assigns five levels of Kurly Lovers grades based on customers’ purchase performance in the previous month and provides practical benefits such as accumulation rates, coupons, and gifts. Customers who purchase more than 1,500,000 KRW in the previous month are given the The Purple grade, and those who purchase more than 1,000,000 KRW receive the Purple grade. Lavender is assigned to customers who purchase more than 500,000 KRW, White to those who purchase more than 300,000 KRW, and Friends to those who purchase more than 150,000 KRW.
The highest grade, The Purple, has grown fourfold annually on average. The next grade, Purple, also increased by an average of 3.2 times each year. The high growth rate of customers with large monthly purchases is due to a significant increase in customers using Market Kurly as their main channel for daily grocery shopping.
The repurchase rate of new customers who newly use Market Kurly is also continuously increasing. As of last month, the repurchase rate of new customers reached 76.5%. It was 61.2% in 2019, 65.2% in 2020, and 71.3% in 2021, showing an upward trend every year.
