Recent Trend of YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels Videos Gains Attention for Communication... Election Campaign Effectively Achieves 1,000 to 2,000 Views
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Park Seong-su, the Democratic Party candidate for Songpa District Mayor, is attracting attention by using short and entertaining videos such as the latest trending YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels for his election campaign.
After launching a YouTube channel named ‘Park Seong-su TV,’ Park began active campaigning from May 2, the day of his preliminary candidate registration. Starting with a video titled ‘What Happens When a Prosecutor-Turned-District Mayor Candidate Announces Candidacy,’ he uploaded 14 short videos introducing his strengths, achievements, and pledges.
In particular, a YouTube video of Park lightly waving his hand and showing a hand gesture representing his candidate number ‘number 1’ at the Seokchon Lake campaign site has surpassed 5,000 likes despite being only about 10 seconds long.
Other videos have also gained popularity, including one capturing the opening ceremony with 2,100 views, a video introducing the rapid promotion policy for reconstruction and redevelopment with 1,800 views, and a video promising original development according to residents’ opinions on the Seongdong Detention Center with 1,600 views.
Park’s Instagram Reels videos are also recording high view counts. A video introducing the Songpa Dullegil Season II promotion pledge, despite being only 5 seconds long, recorded 8,500 views, reflecting the recent trend of short videos.
