Operation of Comprehensive Income Tax and Local Income Tax Filing Centers in 25 Districts of Seoul City
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 13th that taxpayers with comprehensive income last year must file their comprehensive income tax and local income tax by May 31.
Seoul City plans to set up comprehensive income tax and local income tax filing booths in 25 autonomous districts throughout May to support taxpayers visiting the districts in filing both national and local taxes simultaneously.
Taxpayers can choose the most convenient method among electronic filing, in-person filing, or mail filing to report their comprehensive income tax and local income tax. Taxpayers who have completed filing their comprehensive income tax and local income tax must pay these taxes by May 31.

Additionally, Seoul City will unilaterally extend the local income tax payment deadline to August 31 for taxpayers affected by COVID-19 and the East Coast wildfires. Choi Han-cheol, head of the Seoul City Tax Division, said, “Since the COVID-19 situation has not yet ended, we kindly ask that you use electronic filing as much as possible and file and pay within the deadline to avoid unnecessary additional taxes.”
