Chosun University of Science and Technology Wins Grand Prize at National Cooking Competition

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Students from the Hotel Culinary and Patissier Department at Chosun Institute of Science and Technology recently achieved the great feat of winning the grand prize at a nationwide cooking competition.
Chosun Institute of Science and Technology (Acting President Yoon Doosu) announced on the 12th that it won the grand prize (Governor of Jeollanam-do Award) in the group live category of the competition held at the 1st Exhibition Hall of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation aT Center during the ‘19th Seoul International Food & Tableware Expo’.
The ‘Seoul International Food & Tableware Expo’ is a large-scale event for the food culture and tableware industry hosted by the World Food Culture Research Institute and the Korea Food Coordinator Association.
It provides a platform for exchange that introduces the latest food trends through competitions and exhibitions involving experts as well as university and high school students nationwide.
Kim Beomcheol (2nd year, Department of Food Nutrition and Culinary Arts), team leader, said, “Although these are difficult times, I am very grateful to the team members who participated in the competition and gave their best until the end, and I am happy to have won the grand prize. I also thank the professors who have always supported the students and the university for their unwavering support.”

Meanwhile, the Hotel Culinary and Patissier Department at Chosun Institute of Science and Technology is a department nurturing talents in cooking and baking, and will conduct the first round of early admissions from September 13.
