Jeju Air to Operate Charter Flight to Bangkok Early Next Month... After 2 Years and 3 Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Jeju Air announced on the 12th that it will operate charter flights on the Jeju~Bangkok route on the 2nd and 6th of next month. This is the first time in over 2 years and 3 months since the last regular flight in February 2020 due to COVID-19.
This Jeju~Bangkok charter flight is arranged to target the overseas travel demand of Jeju residents and Thai tourists visiting Jeju. Starting next month, the government has allowed visa-free entry for foreigners arriving at Jeju Airport, on the condition of complying with quarantine guidelines.

According to statistics from the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Tourism Association, the number of Thai tourists visiting Jeju was 57,300 in 2019, but dropped to 11,194 in 2020 and 546 last year. The airline plans to increase international flights departing from regional airports by monitoring market conditions in addition to this charter flight.
