Zigbang Conducts Survey Through Application
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Yeeun] A survey has revealed that perceptions of living spaces have changed since the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a mobile survey conducted by Zigbang from the 18th of last month to the 2nd of this month, 61.7% of respondents answered that their preferred factors when choosing a living space have changed due to COVID-19. The survey targeted users accessing the Zigbang application, with a total of 750 respondents and a sampling error of 95% ± 3.58%p.
The most important factors considered when choosing a living space during the COVID-19 era were 'internal floor plan' (28.8%), 'view/scenery' (17.6%), 'convenience facilities' (14.7%), 'interior design' (13.2%), and 'layout/direction' (8.0%), in that order.
Additionally, 30.5% (229 people) of respondents said they had changed the internal structure or interior design of their living space since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020.

Among the 229 respondents who said they had changed the internal structure or interior design, when asked which aspects they focused on, 'hobby and relaxation space' was the highest at 21.0%, followed by 'work and study space' (17.9%), 'partial changes such as furniture, accessories, lighting, tiles, wallpaper' (16.6%), 'service spaces such as balconies and terraces' (13.1%), and 'kitchen and cooking space' (11.4%).
Among the 521 respondents who said they had not changed the internal structure or interior design during the COVID-19 period, when asked 'if you were to make changes, which part would you focus on the most?', the highest response was also 'hobby and relaxation space' at 21.7%, the same as those who had made changes.
Next were △service spaces such as balconies and terraces (16.7%) △kitchen and cooking space (14.2%) △separation of family member spaces (12.1%) △partial changes such as furniture, accessories, lighting, tiles, wallpaper (10.6%), in that order.

Zigbang stated, "Over the past two years, social distancing measures due to the spread of COVID-19 have limited outings and imposed restrictions on interpersonal relationships, leading to a significant change in the perception that desires should be fulfilled within the living space rather than outside." They added, "Perceptions of living spaces are expected to continue evolving due to new external factors."
