Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction Wins 104.5 Billion KRW Contract for Chungbuk Okcheon Apartment Complex
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction, a subsidiary of Korea Technology, a KOSDAQ-listed company, announced on the 10th that it has won a contract worth 104.5 billion KRW for the construction of a multi-family housing complex in Okcheon, Chungbuk.
The project involves the construction of a multi-family housing complex on a site located at San 2-3, Maam-ri, Okcheon-eup, Okcheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. The site area is 24,513㎡ (7,415.18 pyeong), and the total floor area will be 76,807.38㎡ (23,234.23 pyeong). The building coverage ratio and floor area ratio are 18.73% and 240.78%, respectively.
This multi-family housing complex consists of six buildings ranging from one basement floor to 21 floors above ground, featuring 499 apartment units and auxiliary welfare facilities, with excellent transportation accessibility.
The extension of the Chungcheong metropolitan railroad line, which takes 15 minutes from Okcheon to Daejeon, is scheduled to open in 2026. Within 1 km of the project site, the west entrance of Okcheon Station will be opened, further improving access to Daejeon and Sejong City. Additionally, the area is well connected by major transportation networks including the Gyeongbu Expressway Okcheon IC, Tongyeong-Daejeon Expressway, National Route 4, and National Route 37.
The project site is also located near the original downtown area, allowing residents to enjoy various living infrastructures such as large supermarkets and convenience facilities from both the new town and the original downtown. Furthermore, prestigious school districts including Samyang Elementary School, Okcheon Middle School, and Okcheon High School are located within 2 km of the project site.
A representative of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction stated, “We recently conducted executive personnel changes to strengthen our competitiveness in securing orders,” adding, “We will continue aggressive order acquisition activities this year to achieve our order target of 2 trillion KRW.”
