The People Power Party immediately demanded that the Democratic Party adopt the confirmation hearing report upon the hearing's conclusion, but this was not accepted. Park Kwang-on, chairman of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, stated, "The original deadline for adopting the hearing report was the 8th, but we have yet to agree on a schedule for adoption," adding, "We will consult with the party floor leaders and inform you of the future schedule."
Yoo Sang-beom, the People Power Party floor leader, claimed, "The Democratic Party strongly insisted on calling current officials as witnesses, including Han Dong-soo, head of the current Supreme Prosecutors' Office Inspection Department, and current prosecutor Lim Eun-jung, so we reluctantly agreed," and added, "Since we made concessions, the floor leaders agreed to adopt the hearing report, but the Democratic Party is overturning everything."
