View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] RollLab, a digital logistics platform specialist company under KT Group, announced on the 9th that it has launched 'BroCarry,' an AI platform-based freight brokerage and transportation service. RollLab was established last year by KT to lead the digital transformation of the logistics market as a specialized digital logistics platform company.
BroCarry is a freight brokerage and transportation service that connects shippers who send cargo with carriers who transport it, ensuring responsible delivery. BroCarry is characterized by its ability to enable rapid freight transportation and process settlement and payment within the shortest possible time.
To realize this, RollLab jointly developed an AI optimal matching platform based on KT’s cutting-edge information and communication technology (ICT) such as AI and big data. When a shipper registers cargo on BroCarry’s open order system, the AI platform provides customized matching by linking it with the carrier database (DB).
BroCarry aims to enhance convenience throughout freight brokerage and transportation and pursue a win-win business model beneficial to both shippers and carriers. According to the company, it transparently charges shippers with optimal rates through the AI platform and improves operational efficiency by matching the best vehicles. It also offers settlement agency services to reduce the administrative burden on shippers and increases service reliability by guaranteeing responsible transportation beyond simple brokerage. For carriers, it supports minimizing empty runs by providing customized freight volumes based on the AI platform.
RollLab launched BroCarry due to the explosive increase in logistics demand caused by COVID-19 and the growing necessity for digital transformation in the logistics market. According to the 5th National Logistics Basic Plan (2021?2030), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries forecast that the domestic logistics industry’s sales revenue will grow from 92 trillion won in 2019 to 116 trillion won in 2025 and 140 trillion won in 2030. Additionally, a logistics perception survey showed that the public recognizes logistics as an essential service and expects an advanced technology-based logistics era to arrive within 5 to 10 years.
