Road Traffic Authority and Halla University Host 'International University Student EV Autonomous Driving Competition'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The Korea Road Traffic Authority announced on the 7th that it held the '1st International University Student EV Autonomous Driving Competition' in collaboration with Halla University at the Jeju International Electric Vehicle Expo.
According to the Authority, the competition took place over two days starting from the 4th, with 114 teams from 27 universities participating across four categories (VLF, AA1/5, AA1/10, ADSC). After preliminary evaluations conducted since February, 46 teams from 16 universities advanced to the finals. The Authority participated in designing the evaluation sections and judging criteria. Specialized autonomous driving training was provided to participants, and after judging in the four categories, the Chairman's Commendation (Special Award) was presented.

Lee Jumin, Chairman of the Authority, stated, "We hope this autonomous driving competition will serve as a foundation to broaden the base for nurturing future-oriented talent," adding, "We will actively support the establishment of a future transportation ecosystem by utilizing the Authority's infrastructure, data, and experts."
