[Europe Open] Early Decline... Impact of US New York Stock Market Plunge
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] European stock markets are showing a downward trend on the 6th in the early trading hours, following the plunge of the US New York stock market.
As of 4:08 PM Korea time on the day, the UK FTSE index is trading at 7481.02, down 0.30% from the previous trading day. The German DAX index and the French CAC index are also trading at 13,821.63 and 6291.57, down 0.58% and 1.21% respectively from the previous trading day.
The pan-European Euro Stoxx 600 index is trading at 435.49, down 0.63% compared to the previous day.
Earlier, the US New York stock market plunged as it belatedly reflected the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) results. On the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 32,997.97, sharply down 3.12% from the previous close. The S&P 500 index closed at 4146.87, down 3.56%, and the Nasdaq index closed at 12,317.69, plunging 4.99% from the previous close.
