Ministry of Justice Publishes Booklet Compiling Recommendations to Eradicate Digital Sex Crimes
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The Ministry of Justice's Digital Sex Crime Response Task Force (TF) announced on the 6th that it has published a booklet compiling the achievements and recommendations of the TF and the expert committee over the past nine months.
The booklet will be distributed to central administrative agencies such as the Prosecutor's Office, the National Police Agency, and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, as well as the National Assembly, courts, and related committees and organizations. It will also be posted on the Ministry of Justice's website for use by the general public. An English version has also been published and will be provided to embassies of various countries in Korea, the United Nations (UN), and other international organizations and groups working to eradicate digital sex crimes.

The Ministry of Justice formed the TF and expert committee in July and August of last year, held a total of 45 meetings, and made eleven recommendations regarding 32 laws, over 60 articles, and systems aimed at eradicating digital sex crimes. These included securing an independent budget to realize protection and support for victims of digital sex crimes, establishing new grounds for punishment such as infringement of sexual personality rights, improvements in prosecution and trials including rapid investigation, deletion of videos, prohibition of secondary harm caused by information leakage, and the establishment of reporting guidelines.
