Incheon Temporary Screening Clinics Reduced from 12 to 6... Health Center Screening Clinics Continue Operation
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City announced that starting from the 9th, the number of temporary screening clinics will be reduced from the current 12 locations to 6.
The city had been operating 17 temporary screening clinics year-round, 365 days a year, but due to the decreasing trend in COVID-19 confirmed cases and the number of tests, it closed 5 locations on the 1st and has now decided to suspend operations at an additional 6 locations.
The 6 locations to be closed are Unseo Station (Jung-gu), Seonhak Stadium (Yeonsu-gu), Songdo Dalbit Festival Park (Yeonsu-gu), Soraepogu Station (Namdong-gu), Yeolumul Stadium (Bupyeong-gu), and Asiad Main Stadium (Seo-gu).
Accordingly, from the 9th, only 6 locations will remain operational: Juan Station (Michuhol-gu), in front of Songdo Michuhol Tower (Yeonsu-gu), Incheon City Hall Plaza (Namdong-gu), Bupyeong Station (Bupyeong-gu), Jakjeon Station (Gyeyang-gu), and Geomam Station (Seo-gu).
Additionally, 11 screening clinics installed at each district and county public health center will continue to operate as before.
In Incheon, during the peak surge of COVID-19 cases last March, up to 14,500 people per day underwent PCR testing, but with the implementation of rapid antigen tests at local clinics and hospitals, the number of tests has significantly decreased, recently remaining around 600 to 700 per day.
