View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Catholic University Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital announced on the 3rd that Professor Kim Jong-ho of the Department of Orthopedics received the Excellent Presentation Award at the 16th Spring Academic Conference of the Korean Society for Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine in the Musculoskeletal System.
When treating rotator cuff tears accompanied by stiffness, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair is usually performed along with capsular release during surgery. However, Professor Kim reported that intra-articular steroid injections two months after surgery have the same effect on treating stiffness as capsular release. This means avoiding possible complications such as axillary nerve injury caused by capsular release and reducing surgery time.
