People Power Party Incheon Basic Local Government Head Candidates Confirmed...7 Primary Elections Completed
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The People Power Party Incheon City Party Nomination Management Committee announced on the 2nd that it has completed the primary elections for county governors and district mayors who will run in the June 1 local elections.
Kim Jeongheon, former city council member, was nominated as the candidate for Jung-gu district mayor; Kim Chanjin, Presidential Transition Committee National Integration Advisory Committee member, for Dong-gu district mayor; Park Jonghyo, former secretary to the Incheon mayor, for Namdong-gu district mayor; and Lee Younghoon, former city council member, for Michuhol-gu district mayor.
Additionally, Yoo Jehong, former city council member, was selected as the candidate for Bupyeong-gu district mayor; Lee Byungtaek, vice chairman of the city party, for Gyeyang-gu district mayor; and Yoo Cheonho, county governor, for Ganghwa county governor.
Earlier, the city party had decided on Lee Jaeho, former district mayor, for Yeonsu-gu district mayor; Kang Beomseok, former district mayor, for Seo-gu district mayor; and Moon Kyungbok, former director of Incheon City Construction and Transportation Bureau, for Ongjin county governor.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party confirmed candidates for seven Incheon county governor and district mayor election districts by this day.
In Jung-gu, Hong Inseong, district mayor; in Bupyeong-gu, Cha Juntaek, district mayor; in Yeonsu-gu, Go Namseok, district mayor; and in Ongjin county, Jang Jeongmin, county governor?these four candidates are all incumbent heads of local governments.
