Kenkoa Aero Accelerates Future Aviation Business with Daewoo Construction in UAM... "Benefiting from Government Mobility Transformation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] As the new government is promoting the ‘Mobility Transformation’ as a core policy, KenkoAerospace is accelerating its future aviation mobility (AAM) business by partnering with Daewoo Engineering & Construction.
KenkoAerospace announced on the 2nd that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Daewoo Engineering & Construction for the future aviation mobility business.
Since 2019, Kenko, which has been collaborating with global companies as well as local governments, expects significant cooperation in the AAM infrastructure sector based on this MOU. Through this, it is anticipated that momentum will build to secure a leading position in the future aviation mobility market.
Kenko plans to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with Daewoo Engineering & Construction in ▲future aviation mobility (AAM) related businesses ▲drone utilization and R&D projects related to smart construction technology ▲drone delivery services in island regions.
Daewoo Engineering & Construction has been investing in unmanned aerial vehicles and AAM sectors since 2020 by acquiring shares in AstroX, the global number one racing drone company and developer of its own PAV model.
The new government plans to nurture future mobility such as autonomous vehicles and urban air mobility (UAM) as key growth engines. As the global mobility market is expected to expand to around 900 trillion won by 2030, active support will be provided to ensure that domestic technology and industries secure leadership.
A company official explained, "The new government is actively introducing industrial promotion measures in the rapidly changing global mobility market," adding, "Kenko has been moving quickly in Korea to secure a leading position in the aviation mobility market through strategic partnerships and infrastructure development."
He further added, "We will grow alongside the market’s development across all sectors of aviation mobility, including passenger and cargo transportation, infrastructure construction, aircraft production, and flight MRO."
