[Concall] Samsung Electronics "74 Million Smartphones in Q1... Average Selling Price Up"
Q1 Conference Call Scheduled for the 28th
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Samsung Electronics announced on the 28th during its Q1 earnings conference call that it recorded smartphone sales of 74 million units in the first quarter. The average selling price (ASP) of smartphones during the same period was $278 (approximately 350,000 KRW).
Despite high uncertainty in the first quarter, profitability improved as the highest-spec models showed strong sales. Samsung Electronics explained, "The smartphone market in Q1 saw a decline in market size compared to the previous quarter and the previous year due to entering the off-season and instability in international affairs," adding, "Within the S22 series, the proportion of 'Ultra' models increased, improving the product mix and ASP."
