[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Woo Beom-gi, a preliminary candidate for mayor of Jeonju, and Im Jeong-yeop, a prospective candidate for mayor of Jeonju, have promised to complete the Jeonju Great Leap and declared a policy alliance.
On the 25th, they held a press conference at Jeonju City Hall and stated, "Through the Jeonju Great Leap policy alliance declaration ceremony, we have agreed to a policy alliance to achieve the great leap of Jeonju, which has been stagnant for nearly 30 years."
Preliminary candidate Woo said, "We will fully accept Im's 10 major representative pledges and 100 detailed pledges, including the relocation of the northern railway, Hanok cable car, and K-Camp policy to attract foreign tourists, and use them as a foundation for the Jeonju Great Leap."
Prospective candidate Im said, "I highly evaluate Woo's experience as a public official who does not compromise with vested interests and who has worked extensively in central government departments," and explained the background of the policy alliance, saying, "I am confident that only candidate Woo Beom-gi can flawlessly implement the Jeonju Great Leap pledges that I established by meeting citizens from all walks of life."
In particular, prospective candidate Im also expressed his intention to actively support Woo if Woo passes the primary by withdrawing from the race.
However, regarding Woo's actions after being eliminated in the primary, he said, "All possibilities are open," suggesting the possibility of running after leaving the party.
The Democratic Party's candidate for Jeonju mayor will be decided by combining 50% of the party members' votes and 50% of the safe number electorate votes on the 25th and 26th.
In the primary, three candidates?preliminary candidate Woo, former Jeonbuk Provincial Council Vice Chairman Yoo Chang-hee, and former Jeonbuk Economic and Trade Promotion Agency Director Cho Ji-hoon?are fiercely competing.
