AhnLab Establishes Blockchain Subsidiary 'AhnLab Blockchain Company'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] AhnLab announced on the 22nd that it has established a subsidiary, ‘AhnLab Blockchain Company,’ to promote new blockchain business.
AhnLab explained that it established a separate subsidiary to expand its business area into the blockchain field and to respond quickly to the rapidly changing blockchain business environment through swift decision-making. The newly established subsidiary was officially launched on the 1st after approval by AhnLab’s board of directors, and the subsidiary’s CEO concurrently serves as AhnLab CEO Seokgyun Kang.
Going forward, AhnLab Blockchain Company plans to focus on developing ‘Web 3.0 wallet’ services that support the storage, management, and trading of digital assets such as cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Along with this, it plans to discover various business opportunities that combine AhnLab’s accumulated security capabilities with blockchain technology by partnering with capable companies within the blockchain ecosystem.
Additionally, AhnLab will use the establishment of this subsidiary as an opportunity to further strengthen its partnership in the ‘Klaytn Governance Council,’ which it is currently participating in. Centered on AhnLab Blockchain Company, AhnLab plans to enhance cooperation such as technology and business exchanges within the Klaytn Governance Council to contribute to the development of the Klaytn ecosystem.
