The performance "Children's Songs Become Classical" features pianist Park Jonghwa, who possesses both skill and popularity, and singer-songwriter Harim. In this performance, the two performers carefully select familiar and friendly children's songs and classical pieces they have listened to since childhood and present them with new arrangements.
Pianist Park Jonghwa is an outstanding performer and a professor at Seoul National University College of Music, having won awards such as the Busoni International Piano Competition (2003) and the Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition Best Performer Award (1995). Based on creativity, he continuously pursues challenges and changes while continuing musical exploration, and he also released the children's song project album "NUNAYA."
In this performance, he will play pieces from the album such as "In the Flower Garden" (composed by Kwon Gilsang), "Spring in My Hometown" (Hong Nanpa), and "Island Baby" (Lee Heungryeol), along with Chopin Etudes Op. 10 and Chopin Preludes Op. 28.
Singer-songwriter Harim, known for songs like "Departure" and "Incurable Disease," will also take the stage. Harim is an artist who has mastered various folk instrument techniques around the world and is expected to deliver fresh and original performances in this concert. Park Jonghwa and Harim have worked together for a long time, transforming children's songs into beautiful and elegant piano melodies and meeting audiences nationwide.
Park Jonghwa, an artist and a father of a daughter, said, "Arranging children's songs into classical music is more than just a simple project; it is music or stories I want to share with my daughter."
