Yoo said, "Please give me one last chance to work for the future of conservatism and the future of Gyeonggi Province."
At a press conference held at the National Assembly that day, Yoo posed the question, "Why do I do politics?" and then stated, "Because if I can devote everything I have to change the world where we and our children live into one of hope, if it can move even a little in a better direction, I have nothing more to wish for." He added, "It hurt my heart to hear phrases like 'Seoul is the yolk, Gyeonggi is the egg white,' and 'I devote my youth to commuting to Seoul,'" and said, "If you choose me, I will be a governor who solves your problems for four years."
Standing at a crossroads regarding retirement from politics depending on the outcome of the Gyeonggi Province governor primary, Yoo appealed, "For the future of conservatism and the future of Gyeonggi Province, please give Yoo Seung-min one last chance to work." He promised transportation pledges such as GTX, childcare-related pledges, housing pledges, the relocation of Suwon Air Base, and support for infertile couples.
In particular, he conveyed a sincere message to party members. He said, "Since becoming a member of the conservative party 22 years ago until this very moment, I have done politics with the belief that our party must do well to be given the opportunity to work for the people, and that our party itself must change our politics through constant change and innovation for Korea to develop." He added, "If there were parts where party comrades criticized me, all of that was because I was lacking and negligent." He said, "I am confident I can win against any Democratic Party candidate," and "I believe in the free will of party comrades and the passionate desire for victory."

After the press conference, during the Q&A session, regarding the controversy over Yoon's intention (the will of President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol), Yoo said, "What President-elect Yoon wants most in this local election is to win the main election, especially to win the Gyeonggi Province governor election, which determines the outcome of the local elections," and added, "I believe Yoon's intention is the people's will."
