Yoo Seung-min Leads Among Under 40s, Kim Eun-hye Stronger from 50s Onward
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] In a suitability survey for the People Power Party's Gyeonggi Province governor candidate, former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min was found to be ahead of lawmaker Kim Eun-hye within the margin of error.
Research View, a polling agency, conducted a survey commissioned by UPI News and KBC Gwangju Broadcasting from the 10th to 11th, targeting 1,000 voters aged 18 and over living in Gyeonggi Province. The results showed that former lawmaker Yoo received 34.6% support for the People Power Party's Gyeonggi governor candidate suitability, leading lawmaker Kim, who received 29.6%, by 5 percentage points.
Support varied by generation. Yoo led among those under their 40s, while Kim led among those aged 50 and above. By generation, the results were: ages 18-29 (Yoo Seung-min 42.9% vs. Kim Eun-hye 18.0%), 30s (Yoo Seung-min 36.7% vs. Kim Eun-hye 24.7%), and 40s (Yoo Seung-min 39.3% vs. Kim Eun-hye 16.5%). Conversely, in the 50s (Kim Eun-hye 40.6% vs. Yoo Seung-min 27.1%), 60s (Kim Eun-hye 44.4% vs. Yoo Seung-min 29.7%), and 70 and above (Kim Eun-hye 40.3% vs. Yoo Seung-min 29.8%), Kim led.
Additionally, it is noteworthy that Yoo led among progressives and the politically unaffiliated, while Kim showed strength among conservatives and People Power Party supporters aged 60 and above.
