Seoul Weekly Student COVID-19 Cases 28,366... 14,722 Fewer Than Previous Week

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among students in Seoul over the past week has dropped below 30,000.
On the 12th, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that the number of confirmed student cases from April 4 to 10 was 28,366, and confirmed cases among faculty and staff were 3,146. The total number of confirmed cases was 31,512.
The number of confirmed student cases decreased by 14,722 compared to the previous week, and confirmed cases among faculty and staff decreased by 1,170.
Student confirmed cases have been declining for three consecutive weeks after peaking in the third week of March.
The incidence rate per 10,000 students was 312.3, down 163.7 from the previous week (476.0). It has been decreasing for four consecutive weeks from 703.8 in the third week of March, 609.8 in the fourth week of March, and 476.0 in the fifth week of March.
As of the 11th, 1,996 out of 2,109 schools including kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools (94.6%) conducted full in-person classes. The full in-person attendance rate increased by 4.5 percentage points compared to the previous week (90.1%).

By school level, the attendance rates were 93% for elementary and middle schools, 95% for high schools, 88% for kindergartens, and 84% for special schools. Discretionary holidays were observed in 10 kindergartens, 4 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 3 high schools.
