View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Regarding lawyer Kang Yong-seok's claim that his reinstatement was denied due to a personal grudge held by Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, Lee raised his voice, saying, "If a personal grudge had been at work, the related agenda would not have been submitted."
On the afternoon of the 7th, Lee appeared on TBS Radio's 'Shin Jang-sik's Shin Jang Open' and stated, "Not submitting the agenda is the cleanest way," adding, "However, I thought that confusion should not continue ahead of the election, so I put the (lawyer Kang's reinstatement) agenda on the table, and the majority opinion was rejection by anonymous vote."
Earlier, lawyer Kang declared his candidacy for Gyeonggi Province governor on the 4th and applied for reinstatement to the People Power Party. Kang was expelled from the then Saenuri Party (predecessor of the People Power Party) in 2010 due to inappropriate remarks, including disparaging announcers. Since then, Kang has been active as a cast member of the conservative-leaning YouTube channel Gaseyeon and recently raised allegations of sexual bribery against Lee.
However, on the 7th, the People Power Party ultimately denied Kang's reinstatement. In response, Kang appeared on YTN Radio's 'Issue & People' on the 7th and said to Lee, "It seems that the rejection decision was unilaterally made due to such a personal grudge," adding, "We naturally believe it is our duty to point out the sexual bribery issue and evidence destruction instruction involving the leader of the party that will soon be the ruling party."
Regarding this, Lee explained, "In 2016, lawyer Kang attempted the reinstatement process but was rejected," adding, "Especially for those reinstated after expulsion, the Seoul City Party Committee conducts a very thorough review."

Lee also pointed out that Kang's declaration to run for Gyeonggi Province governor might be an event for his YouTube activities. He said, "I have worked with him on broadcasts for a long time, so I know well that he is a very realistic person who will make realistic judgments," adding, "Whether he is making a political move to completely transform himself into a politician or considering the governorship of Gyeonggi Province as a side event for his broadcasting or YouTube activities will make a difference."
