In response to questions about President-elect Yoon Seok-youl's pledge to abolish the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and whether the appointed minister would serve only a two-month term, the official said, "It is unreasonable to appoint someone and then ask them to resign after two months," and stated, "It is common sense and natural that the person appointed as the Minister of Gender Equality and Family should carry out the ministry's inherent functions and the new roles assigned in this new era under that title."
