Cyworld Resumes Service After Two and a Half Years, Tops App Store Downloads
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] Cyworld, which resumed its service after two and a half years, ranked first in overall app downloads on both the Apple App Market and Google Play Store.
Cyworld Z launched the Cyworld app on Google Play and the Apple App Store starting at 12:30 PM on the 2nd. This is 28 months after the service was suspended in October 2019. Currently, services such as Mini Room, Photo Album, Friend Connections, and Wave Riding have been restored.
However, some app market servers experienced errors due to a surge in app download traffic, and real-name verification issues occurred due to the overwhelming number of users. Some users have reported inconveniences such as difficulty accessing the app or the photo album not opening.
In response, Cyworld Z explained, “Traffic surges during the process of uploading photo albums restored from dormant accounts may cause delays in restoration.”
