View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Lotte Department Store announced on the 29th that it will hold the 'Wine & Liquor Festa' at all its stores from the 1st to the 10th of next month. Breaking away from the previous department store liquor events limited to wine, it will carefully select and showcase a variety of liquor products including whiskey. For this, it has prepared liquor worth 15 billion KRW, including wine, whiskey, cognac, sake, and other varieties.
Lotte Department Store emphasized, "Among the 15 billion KRW worth of products, we have secured more than 4 billion KRW worth of whiskey, which is the main item causing the 'sold-out frenzy'." Single malt whiskeys at the center of the whiskey craze, such as Balvenie 30 Year Rare Marriage priced at 2.9 million KRW, Balvenie 21 Year The Second Red Rose (650,000 KRW), Glenmorangie Signet (375,000 KRW), and Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak (130,000 KRW) will be available. Fans can also find Dalmore single malt, Ballantine 30 Year, and Royal Salute 38 Year. At the main and Jamsil stores, Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year will be sold to the first three customers per store at 89,900 KRW.
Wines ranging from high-value limited edition wines with rare value to affordable wines for casual enjoyment will be offered. Bordeaux Grand Cru Class? first-class wine Ch?teau Mouton Rothschild (2017) and a set of six wines from 2006 to 2011, the highly collectible and luxurious Grgich Hills Cabernet Sauvignon Vertical 6-bottle set in a wooden case, ideal for gifts, will be prepared. Steady seller wines such as Opus One, Yusukai, Sinqanta Collezione, and Punamu Sauvignon Blanc will also be available.
Sake and cognac, which were difficult to find at events, will also be prepared. The representative product is the premium sake Kubota Manjuda, well known in Korea. During the event period, it will be offered at more than 50% discount on a first-come, first-served basis every weekend (Friday to Sunday) at each store. Onnanakase Junmai Daiginjo, Camus XO, Remy Martin XO, and others will also be sold. All products sold at the 'Wine & Liquor Festa' will be limited in quantity per store, and some popular products will have a purchase limit per person to allow as many customers as possible to buy them.
A promotion giving Lotte gift certificates will also be held. Generally, liquor products only receive promotions on half of the purchase amount or are excluded from promotions altogether. During the 'Wine & Liquor Festa,' customers will receive a 5% Lotte gift certificate based on the full purchase amount of liquor according to the purchase amount tiers.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Lotte Department Store established the first team-based liquor specialist organization in the department store industry to strengthen its liquor product category. Previously, one or two buyers managed the liquor product category across all stores, but in February this year, a 'Wine & Liquor' team composed of four MZ generation (Millennial + Gen Z) members, including sommelier Kyung Min-seok, former head sommelier of a Michelin 2-star restaurant, was formed to enhance expertise.
