Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters Conducts 'Planned Crackdown' on Fire Facility Blockages at 925 Complex Buildings
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will conduct a planned crackdown on the blocking and closure of fire facilities at 925 complex buildings in the province for three months from April 1 to June 30.
The main crackdown targets include ▲ blocking and closure of fire extinguishing equipment (water-based and gas-based) valves ▲ arbitrary manipulation of the control panel and neglecting the power (fire pump) monitoring control panel to remain inoperative ▲ closure and damage of evacuation and fire prevention facilities.
If fire extinguishing equipment valves are blocked or closed, offenders face imprisonment of up to 5 years or a fine of up to 50 million won. Arbitrary manipulation of the control panel and neglecting the power monitoring control panel to remain inoperative are subject to fines of up to 2 million won.
Additionally, closure or damage of evacuation and fire prevention facilities is subject to fines of up to 3 million won.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters will deploy 37 teams consisting of 74 enforcement officers from the headquarters and frontline fire stations for this planned crackdown.
