President-elect Yoon Holds Breakfast Meeting with Former Vice President Pence "Strengthening Korea-US Relations with Greater Density"

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol met with former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, who is visiting Korea.
According to Yoon's camp on the 26th, Yoon had breakfast with former Vice President Pence for about two hours the previous morning at a location in downtown Seoul.
Yoon and Pence are reported to have mainly discussed fundamental issues regarding recent international affairs and ways to strengthen the South Korea-U.S. alliance.
Former Vice President Pence is known as a leading 'hardliner on North Korea' in the United States.
Yoon repeatedly emphasized that he holds firm principles and positions regarding the South Korea-U.S. alliance, stating, "The South Korea-U.S. relationship will be further strengthened in a more substantial way going forward," to which Pence reportedly responded, "That is truly a good statement."
Pence mentioned his personal connection, noting that his father was a Korean War veteran and his two sons served in Korea as an aircraft carrier and fighter pilot, respectively. Yoon reportedly said, "It is an inseparable bond."
Pence also posted a photo with Yoon on his Twitter account. He wrote, "President-elect Yoon is a defender of freedom and will strengthen the unbreakable bond between the United States and South Korea for generations to come."
