Training Launched to Enhance Cultural Heritage Protection and Wildfire Suppression Capabilities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Baegamsa Office of Naejangsan National Park under the Korea National Park Service announced on the 24th that it conducted a joint wildfire suppression drill with related agencies on the 23rd to protect cultural assets and strengthen wildfire suppression capabilities during the spring wildfire prevention period.
The drill involved more than 30 participants from the Naejangsan Baegam Office, Naejangsan Office, Jangseong Fire Station, and Baekyangsa Temple. They carried out activities such as establishing firebreaks in preparation for wildfire situations, confirming cooperation systems among related agencies, and designating suppression routes in case of fire, thereby enhancing emergency response capabilities.
Additionally, to protect cultural resources from fires at traditional temples, they inspected fire detection facilities and assessed the placement status of fire extinguishers, checking the condition of firefighting facilities aimed at protecting traditional temples and cultural assets.
