Hyundai Department Store Duty Free, First in Duty-Free Industry to Launch Self-Produced 'Tourist Attraction' NFT
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Hyundai Department Store Duty Free announced on the 21st that it will introduce the first self-produced non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the duty-free industry.
Hyundai Department Store Duty Free will issue 255 NFT artworks themed on Seoul on the world's largest NFT trading platform, OpenSea, and hold 'THE PRESENT OF SEOUL, Hyundai's Seoul NFT Exhibition,' giving them away for free to customers through a lottery until the 21st of next month. The purpose is to promote Seoul's landmarks worldwide.
For this exhibition, Hyundai Department Store Duty Free collaborated with five famous domestic NFT artists?Kim Hyekyung, Heo Hyun, TOVI, Lindsayking, and Nakta?to present five types of NFT art themed on Dongdaemun and Gangnam Samseong Station, Seoul's tourist attractions and locations of Hyundai Department Store Duty Free's downtown duty-free shops. Each artist will issue 50 normal editions and 1 special edition, totaling 255 NFTs.
The issued NFTs will be given away for free through a lottery to customers of Hyundai Department Store Duty Free's online duty-free shop. Participation in the lottery is possible once per day per ID on the Hyundai Department Store Duty Free online duty-free shop website and mobile app until the 21st of next month. The winning NFTs will be sent via the cryptocurrency wallet service MetaMask in May.
The NFTs produced this time can also be viewed on Hyundai Department Store Internet Duty Free, Hyundai Department Store Duty Free's official SNS accounts, and the large signage on the exterior wall of Hyundai Department Store Duty Free Trade Center Branch.

A Hyundai Department Store Duty Free official said, “This event was held to further promote Seoul, a world-class tourist city, through NFTs, which have recently gained great popularity mainly among the 2030 generation.” He added, “We plan to continue offering various differentiated contents for MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) customers.”
