Hanwha General Insurance Conducts In-House Campaign 'Green Plus' Promoting Reusable Cups
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hanwha General Insurance announced on the 10th that it has launched the ‘Green Plus’ campaign encouraging employees to use reusable cups in the office as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management practice.
This campaign was planned as one of the practical environmental protection measures in daily life, following Hanwha General Insurance’s declaration of ‘coal phase-out finance’ together with financial affiliates within the group and making ‘ESG management’ a key priority.
Employees who wish to participate can use the Green Plus designated reusable cups provided in the company’s break rooms and return them to the collection boxes. After use, the cups are cleaned through a seven-step process by a specialized company and then redistributed.
The company explained that during a two-month pilot operation from January, about 140 employees participated, with approximately 86% expressing satisfaction.
Since March, the campaign has been expanded to the entire Yeouido headquarters, and there are plans to extend it to other office buildings owned by Hanwha General Insurance in the future.
