During his congratulatory speech at the National Assembly Library on the same day, President-elect Yoon said, "Since I started politics, whenever I faced difficulties, I thought about why the people called me out and what was for the people."
He explained, "The people placed their hope in my conviction, which for 26 years stood firm for fairness and justice without yielding to any power, and put me in this position. It means keeping the promise to the people to make them feel justice in their daily lives before even pondering what justice is."
President-elect Yoon stated, "The Yoon Seok-yeol administration will overcome crises by firmly establishing liberal democracy and market economy and open an era of integration and prosperity," adding, "We will distance ourselves from outdated ideologies that threaten liberal democracy and operate the government based on the common sense of the people."
He said, "Through this, we will create a dynamic country where each individual is guaranteed fair opportunities, can freely exercise autonomy and creativity, where the value of labor is respected, and where working people live better," and added, "We will shift to a private-sector-led economy rather than government-led, create jobs, and strengthen the middle class."
President-elect Yoon said, "Warm welfare that we need cannot be sustained without growth," and added, "Sustainable development is only possible when growth and welfare circulate fairly in a virtuous cycle."
Regarding diplomacy and security, he said, "We also face the task of strengthening global diplomatic capabilities amid the tensions of the US-China strategic competition," and stated, "To protect the safety, property, territory, and sovereignty of the people, we will build a strong defense force capable of firmly deterring any provocation."
