View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in will call President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol on the 10th to have a conversation. He will also send a congratulatory flower arrangement through Chief Secretary Yoo Young-min. A meeting with the President-elect is expected to be scheduled within a few days.
According to the Blue House, President Moon is scheduled to have a phone call with President-elect Yoon sometime in the morning of the day. The exact time of the call has not yet been decided.
By convention, the phone call between the incumbent president and the president-elect usually takes place overnight immediately after the election, but in this 20th presidential election, since both sides were in a close race and Yoon's victory was confirmed in the early hours of the 10th, the call was postponed to the 10th.
President Moon will send a congratulatory flower arrangement through Chief Secretary Yoo and is expected to discuss when to meet the President-elect at that time. The last time the two met face-to-face was 21 months ago, in June 2020, when Yoon visited the Blue House to attend the Anti-Corruption Policy Council.
