Gwangju Nam-gu Public Library, Spring Breeze Carrying the Scent of Books
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will operate the first half reading culture promotion program at three district-run libraries in the district until June.
According to Nam-gu on the 8th, the Bongseon-dong Cultural Information Library will operate seven programs for all age groups including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors from this month until June.
First, programs for children and adolescents include three types: "Let's Play with English Fairy Tales" for children aged 5 to 7, "Toktok History Class" for 3rd to 4th graders in elementary school, and "Picture Book Play that Grows Thinking" for 1st to 3rd graders in elementary school.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, classes will be conducted online using Zoom from March 22 to 25.
Programs for adults include "Our History Taught by Mom," "English Fairy Tales for Adults," and "One Line Calligraphy a Day." The first classes will be held between the 14th and 17th, and adult programs are expected to be conducted both online and in the Cultural Information Library program room.
For seniors, the "Generational Empathy Smartphone" program will open from the 16th, offering a total of 16 sessions on basic smartphone usage until May 6.
At Pureungil Library, a total of 10 programs, including two lectures related to the 4th Industrial Revolution, will be operated.
Programs include "Komjirak Book Play" for children aged 6 to 7, "Curiosity Bang Bang Science Experiment" and "Into History with Books" for 1st to 2nd graders in elementary school.
Additionally, "Little Chef Who Eats Books" for 2nd to 3rd graders and "Creative Board Games" for 2nd to 4th graders are prepared, along with 4th Industrial Revolution-related classes such as "Make Your Dream! 3D Class" and "Smooth Coding" for 5th graders to high school students and adults.
Furthermore, programs for young adults include "Adult Reading Board Game Guidance" and "Meeting Reading and Nature, Wild Herb Stories."
In addition, the Youth Library will present a total of six programs through both face-to-face and non-face-to-face methods.
Programs include "Curiosity Growing Book Play" and "Exciting Reading Debate Playground" for 1st to 2nd graders, "Komjirak Science Class" for 2nd to 4th graders, and "Cooking Cooking" for 1st to 3rd graders.
